In the book Alice in Wonderland, Alice falls down the rabbit into a world full of curiosities. Similar to how Alice explores all the curiosities of Wonderland, students can explore their own wonders by exploring the world of Wonderopolis! Wonderopolis is a site dedicated to answering questions from our most inquisitive learners!

Wonderopolis' site is divided into 5 tabs (Home, Explore Wonders, What Are Your Wondering, Camp Wonderopolis, and Wonders with Charlie). We are going to dive a little deeper into each one and if you would like to go directly to those pages, just click the title for each section below to bring exploring!

HOME PAGE

When you go to the Wonderopolis site, you are immediately immersed in a colorful world! Your eyes are immediately drawn to the center of the page where the Wonder of the Day is featured.  When you click on this Wonder, it will open up a page filled with information about it. There is a page of information that students can either read or listen to. In addition to this, Wonderopolis includes various images and/or video clips about the subject. There are wonder words featured on the right side of the page. If students are feeling adventurous, they can take the wonder word challenge where they have to match the vocabulary word to it's definition. Students can also challenge themselves by taking the test your knowledge quiz over the content of the article. Each Wonder of the Day includes a shout-out to the Wonder Contributors for that topic.

At the bottom of the Home page, students and teachers can view the top nominated wonder questions and the latest from the Wonder Bank.

EXPLORE WONDERS

In addition to reading the Wonder of the Day student can search Wonders by a variety of filters such as most recent, most popular, and/or wonder list. Teachers and students can also explore Wonders by subject. Similar to the Wonder of the Day, if you click on a Wonder, it opens up to a page with information about that question along with images, videos, vocabulary words, and quizzes.

WHAT ARE YOU WONDERING?

If a student or a teacher wants to add a Wonder Question, this is the section to do that! When you click on the "What Are You Wondering" tab, there is a space for you to type in your question. Below that, is a list of the top nominated Wonder Questions. Students and teachers have the opportunity to Vote Up any of these Wonders by clicking on the Vote Up icon. Wonders can be sorted by those that that are the highest rated and those that are non-voted.
