Our GISD technology team with George Henderson, Jeff Harper, Tyler Watford, and Daniel Tuttle stepped up to make sure Katy had everything she needed for her live interview with Kelly Clarkson via Skype! Thank you to Daniel and Curtis for helping us stream the live show for our fine arts students and staff! Katy was fantastic and our tech team really showed their support for Katy! 

Katy Dane was recognized as the National Music Educator of the Year! The Barbershop Harmony Society selected Katy out of the entire country as the educator of the National Association for Music Education 2022 Music Educator. This prestigious award is well-earned. Katy volunteers her time in many ways to support music in the surrounding area. Here are a few ways where Katy supports our community:

  • VP of Music & Performance, Southwestern District of the Barbershop Harmony Society
