Impactful Technology Use Summer Learning

Impactful Technology Use Indicators
Impactful Technology Use Indicators: Digital Promise
We have spent the last two years in a crash course about how to design work for, and effectively manage, the 1:1 classroom . With each student having access to their own district provided device, so many opportunities have opened up, while additional concerns have also become apparant.  Every day we are learning more about balancing screen time and currating digital activities that provide the best learning opportunities.

In 2017 the Dynamic Learning Project (DLP) was created with the goal of helping educators make their use of classroom technology more impactful. A research based rubric was developed (Impactful Technology Use Rubric) that can help guide our thinking and growth around the quality and impact of technology on student engagement and learning.

This summer the GISD Digital Learning Team is providing PL sessions that dig into the indicators for impactful use of technology in the classroom.

Collaboration
Critical Thinking
Creativity & Innovation
Communication
Agency
Selection of relevant technology tools

These sessions will focus on developing an understanding of the indicator, learning more about digital tools and strategies that can be leveraged to increase student proficiency, and finally redesigning a lesson or unit to incorporate opportunities for meaningful technology use that supports your content.
